What is Biological Terrain Assessment?
Biological Terrain Assessment is the clinical monitoring of the internal biochemical environment of the body to gain an in-depth understanding of the "elements" within the patient's chemistry. This assessment helps the practitioner to uncover the underlying cause or causes of the patient's imbalance or illness, rather than treating a list of "symptoms." With Biological Terrain Assessment, the practitioner can often detect a cellular pathology well before the disease physically manifests. Information of this nature can lead to solutions which support and restore overall health for the patient.
Where did the concept for Biological Terrain Assessment originate?
The concept of Biological Terrain is credited to the noted 19th century physiologist Claude Bernard. Professor Bernard believed that it is the environment of the cell that determines function and integrity.
In 1962, Professor Louis Claude Vincent of France, renamed and redefined the three primary factors for assessing the Biological Terrain. They are pH (acid and alkaline balance), rH2 (oxidative stress), and r (mineral concentration).
In 1994, following years of research in biochemistry, Dr. Robert C. Greenberg designed the device now known as the BTA S-2000. Dr. Greenberg is recognized today as the foremost authority on Biological Terrain.
Today, we use the term Biological Terrain Assessment to define the overall status of the biochemistry of an individual based upon evaluation of blood, urine and saliva for parameters of pH, rH2 and r.

With the "Predict Blood" feature, a picture of the entire Biological Terrain is obtained without the need to draw blood.
